About the Tasmanian Trail

For those not aware the Tasmanian Trail starts at picturesque town of Latrobe, Tasmania (although most start from Devonport as it's as 10km further north on the coast) and travels across the middle of the state approximately 480 km to Dover in the north. Heres a quote from Tasmanian trail web page....

"Tasmanian Trail – a long distance
multi-purpose trail, from Devonport on
the northern coast to Dover in the south.
The Trail provides a journey rich in
cultural and natural heritage through a
wide range of environments – some of
the most beautiful and fascinating areas
of Tasmania. Through forests, farm-
lands, across highland plateaus and
past buildings and bridges of some of
Australia's oldest towns, offering oppor-
tunities for visits to attractions on or
close to the pathway."

John Dawson also gives the trail a great write up from a mountain biker perspective.
